In the late 1990s, Latur was still recovering from the devastating earthquake of 1993. The G.K. Joshi Educational Trust saw an opportunity — and a responsibility — to rebuild not just structures but futures. Night college education offered a path for those who worked during the day but harboured ambitions beyond their current stations.

Starting with a modest number of students and a handful of dedicated faculty, the college quickly earned a reputation for discipline, genuine care for students, and consistent results. Over the decades, thousands of working professionals, homemakers, and first-generation graduates have earned their degrees through these evening sessions on Station Road.
